Casey Family Update
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” - Luke 4:18-19
2016 was filled with opportunity
We are ending this year with an enlarged view of God's faithfulness and the gladness that comes from knowing that His strength is made perfect in our weakness. Last winter's pace was set quickly with a January trip to visit family in Colorado, the NFL 101 Awards, and an increased FCA ministry territory for Marcellus.
It felt like the weight of winter activity caught up to us in the Spring during our annual "sans kiddo" trip to Boise, Idaho. We wrestled in prayer on that mountain sorting through the places of our hearts where we were not trusting God and identifying where we needed to lean on Him. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
The real fight began in the Summer when Marcellus's new assistant Dom taught us how to box. We bought the gear and found a new hobby that keeps us fit and connected. Trips to the swimming pool were frequent and our house always smelled of suntan lotion and chlorine. We spent time in Branson, MO at a cozy cabin with the Casey grandparents, and ended the summer by camping with our best friends from Illinois. The tents were pitched on a horse farm outside of St. Louis while the kids played in 5 foot tall piles of gravel.
We are dreaming up new ways to keep our roots in Christ and to deepen relationships. Stephanie is enjoying Vivi and Ralphie's last years of being toddlers while pursuing relationships in Salem and Cora's school. She is also cultivating beauty through friendships and her interests with fitness and nutrition. Marcellus continues to enjoy leadership with FCA and increasing roles of service in our local Church. Please pray for our kids Salem, Cora, Vivienne, and Ralphie to know intimately the love of God and to respond to His invitation for salvation.
Please pray for Marcellus and Stephanie to rest in the love of God, live out their family mission statement, and have a continued sense of God's leading. Please also pray that God would heal Marcellus's body of migraines.
We would also appreciate it if you would pray specifically that God would continue to help them live out the vision that Jesus began when He quoted the prophet Isaiah...
